Although an active street artists at the time, Fairey featured in Banksy's Exit through the giftshop film and was featured creating and stenciling his iconic Obey Giant images.
Fairey continued to expand his portfolio and is perhaps even better known for creating the instantly recognisable Obama Vote image which has since been copied in numerous guises over the past years.
Peace & Justice Woman was produced in 2013 and this iconic image was recreated in huge scale by Fairey as a mural on an apartment building in Malaga.
A serious and prolific creator of socio-politically inspired screenprints, his work is widely collected, especially earlier pieces which are rarely offered in the market and command a premium when they are.
